Crossing the Bridge
and OA Tapout
This
year, the Troop 6 “Crossing the Bridge” ceremony will take place at
5:30 p.m. Gathering at the shelter at the top of the hill in French Park prior to Potluck Dinner.
6:00 p.m. Potluck dinner (cheese pizza + items brought by patrol families)
6:15 p.m. Friends of Scouting Presentation
6:30 – 6:45 p.m. “Crossing the Bridge” twilight ceremony begins at a bridge over the creek and concludes at the Troop 6-constructed bridge along the creek path about five minutes down the trail. Luminaria will light the way. The new scouts will be led west through the woods along the creek path toward the bridge while the rest of the troop, parents and guests follow behind. There is a shortcut available that involves crossing the creek, for the adventurous. In the event of rain or if the trail is too muddy, we’ll conduct the ceremony at the bridge over the creek.
7:15 p.m. (at the latest) New scouts cross the bridge and receive Troop 6 numeral, red epaulets, red neckerchiefs and slides as symbols of their graduation to Boy Scouts
7:30 - 8:00 p.m. Parent Meeting
