Green Up Day in French Park
Saturday, April 22, 2006

On Saturday, April 22, the annual service project is being held to work on trails in the park. Unfortunately this coincides with our canoe trip to Red River Gorge, but if you are not going on the canoe trip, it is a good chance to earn some service hours, help our local park system fixing up a trail in the park, and to earn a T-shirt and get a free lunch. All the bridges in French Park on the trails were built as Eagle Service Projects by Troop 6 members. So we have a close tie with this beautiful local park. Did you know there is about 4 miles of hiking trails in French Park?

This project is being organized by Bill Lennard, so if you are interested, please contact him at blennard@cinci.rr.com

I don't know the starting and ending time yet, but this info will be posted as soon as Bill fills us in. Undoubtedly, Bill will be suggesting you wear boots, heavy old pants such as jeans and probably a long sleeve shirt to protect yourself from briars. Also, you might bring a water bottle and mosquito repellant and suntan lotion.

Bill will also let us know about transportation to and from the park and the exact project we will be performing. Last year we reworked a section of hiking trail.
